GCS opens a new branch in Abu Dhabi

As part of its continued growth, GCS recently opened a new branch in Abu Dhabi. The branch will serve as a key hub for the Gulf region and the Middle East.

Phillip and Maha settling into the new office

GCS recently established a branch in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, appointing Phillip Gross as branch manager. Phillip has been in Sales Management for military/security solutions throughout his entire professional life, focusing primarily on the Middle East and Africa. He previously worked for GCS as Sales Manager in Switzerland, as well as for MineWolf Systems. The GCS family is delighted to welcome him back on board. Phillip will be supported by Maha Hanna, a native Arabic speaker and Lebanese citizen. Maha brings over 20 years of experience working with a Swiss defence firm in Abu Dhabi. Together, Phillip and Maha have a very thorough understanding of the needs of GCS clients and are aware of the cultural aspects when dealing with clients and other stakeholders in the region.

An ideal hub

“The UAE is not only an attractive and diverse market; it also offers foreign companies a seamless and professional ground to set up and execute business in a friendly and welcoming manner,” Phillip says. He considers the UAE to be the ideal hub for GCS to expand its business in the region. “Having a presence in Abu Dhabi brings us closer to new and existing customers and enables us to act fast. It allows us to focus on customer requirements, form new strategic alliances and partnerships with international and local organisations and to have a stronger market presence and impact.”

Meeting client requirements in the region

GCS has witnessed increased demand for end-to-end solutions for mine breaching and clearance operations, military engineering and EOD/IEDD tasks in the region. GCS’s sophisticated and multi-purpose solutions meet various requirements of different government entities. “It is therefore crucial to have close interaction with the customers to keep them on track with what we have to offer,” Phillip concludes.

Continued growth in the Middle East

Currently GCS employs over 100 staff in the Middle East and also has an office in Baghdad to support its operations in Iraq. The Abu Dhabi branch will support the global GCS sales and operations teams in the MENA market with project management and logistical support.
